Gardening Update

Bit dusty in here, isn't it? But not for long! This year is going to be the Year of Farwoods, and we're starting it out strong with a brand new skill!

  • New skill: Gardening.
  • New scrounged item: Clay.
  • New woodworking furniture: Planter Box.
  • New blacksmithing item: Watering Can.
  • New stoneworking furniture: Oven.
  • New stoneworking furniture: Fireplace.
  • New stoneworking furniture: Vase.
  • New gardening item: Seeds.
  • Added walking sprites for mice; other species will receive them as they are finished, but you can give feedback on them now.
  • Freshly-cooked food and drink now carries a powerful buff which improves HP, Mind, and Stamina restoration for an in-game day, as well as providing some weather resistance for half an hour after it's done cooking. Keeping food in a lit oven will keep it fresh. We hope this encourages players not to simply stockpile huge piles of cooked food, and create a niche for restaurants that cook food to order.
  • Attack cooldowns are now visually displayed for all players so that they can be played around in combat.
  • We have added a Sparring intent which will stop combat when a player reaches 1 HP. You may only attack other people in sparring intent while in sparring intent.
  • You can now assign the Point action to your action bar. Pointing will show a visual indicator on the map to everyone who can see you.
  • You can now assign the Rest action to your action bar. If there is a stool on the tile, you will sit on it if your race has a sitting sprite (currently only mice). Resting on things will restore at the sleeping rate but will not give you the Rested buff. Unlike sleeping it does not incapacitate you in any way, so you can talk and craft and such while resting.
  • Jewelry will now continue to lose empowerment for 30 minutes after being removed, to discourage people from popping it on and off while resting between using skills.
  • You can no longer drop items on top of trees.
  • You can no longer close doors when items or players are on the tile.
  • Counters are now climbable and blinkable. All existing burrows have been locked in case someone somehow failed to get with the program on this within like... a year and a half. If you still had Nomad stuff in the burrow of a character that no longer plays... go bother them, I guess.

Next up to bat are the smithing and green magic overhauls, which will hopefully be forthcoming in January.
